Washington, D.C.OCA - Asian Pacific American Advocates acknowledges the election of President-Elect Trump and calls on the incoming administration to positively engage with the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities.

It is crucial for the new administration to learn from the past, particularly from harmful policies like the public charge rule and the Muslim ban, which have disproportionately impacted AANHPI communities. OCA remains committed to working with the White House, Congress, and federal agencies to promote policies that uplift the AANHPI community and combat all forms of hate. OCA will continue to pursue meaningful dialogue and strive for a future where every voice is valued and respected.

"Now is the time for unity and understanding," said OCA - Asian Pacific American Advocates National President Linda Ng. "We hope that the new administration will prioritize the voices of AANHPI communities in its policymaking processes to foster an inclusive society."

"We urge President-Elect Trump and the incoming administration to prioritize relationship-building with the AANHPI community," said OCA - Asian Pacific American Advocates Executive Director Thu Nguyen. "Together, we must address the ongoing challenges our community faces, including anti-Asian hate and discrimination, access to healthcare, immigration reform, and more."
