OCA RECEIVES GRANT FROM THE UPS FOUNDATION; ANNOUNCES SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS

Washington, DC - OCA-Asian Pacific American Advocates is honored to receive another grant from the UPS Foundation, which drives global corporate citizenship and philanthropic programs for UPS. This grant will be used as scholarship money for current Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) high school and university students across the country. OCA was proud to provide two groups of students with financial opportunities. The Gold Mountain Scholarship for high school graduates, who are first in their family to attend college, awards each student $2,000. The Gold Mountain Scholarship for rising college seniors awards each student $2,500. These outstanding AAPI college students received scholarships to help with tuition and school expenses. The financial support provided to these first generation students from underserved communities allows for academic opportunities that might not be possible otherwise,” says Sharon M. Wong, OCA National President. “By being part of these young and emerging leaders’ journeys with the Gold Mountain Scholarship, we hope to build up AAPI communities across the country.”
