Washington, D.C. — OCA - Asian Pacific American Advocates issued the following statement condemning the heinous attack that occurred at former President Trump’s Pennsylvania rally on July 13, which resulted in the loss of one life and injuries to several others:
"We are relieved that former President Trump escaped serious injury during the recent incident at his Pennsylvania rally. Violence, especially gun violence, has no place in our political landscape or society at large.
These tragic events underscore the critical need for unity and a renewed commitment to peaceful engagement in our political processes. We must unequivocally condemn such acts of violence, which not only threaten individual safety but also undermine the fundamental principles of our democracy.
We commend the swift response of law enforcement and extend our deepest condolences to the families affected by this senseless tragedy. We must come together to uphold our core values of safety, justice, and mutual respect. We urge our elected officials at all levels to prioritize measures that prevent violence and protect the rights of every individual to live free from fear.”
