Washington, D.C. – OCA – Asian Pacific American Advocates, a national organization of community advocates dedicated to advancing the social, political, and economic well-being of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs), is proud to announce the 2020 National Asian Pacific American Corporate Achievement Awards, which will take place virtually September 29-October 2, 2020.
The Annual National Asian Pacific American Corporate Achievement Awards are dedicated to celebrating and recognizing AAPIs in the corporate sector who exemplify not only excellence in their profession, but also leadership and commitment in their respective communities and to the existing corporate culture of diversity.
The event is the first national program of its kind to recognize corporate achievement and service by honoring the dedication and leadership of APA corporate employees. Since its establishment in 1991 by the OCA Business Advisory Council (BAC), over 220 community-conscious corporate leaders have been inducted to this prestigious group.
“The Corporate Achievement Awards is an incredible opportunity for our community and companies to recognize their most outstanding corporate citizens in the United States,” said Sharon M. Wong, OCA National President. “Through these uncertain times, it has been even more difficult, yet important, to be leaders within the workplace and in the community. This year we feature six extremely talented and dedicated community members who make a difference in their respective companies.”
Honorees are nominated by their respective employers and then selected by a panel of judges. The honorees who have been chosen to receive the award are:
Farni Boten, Principal Network Engineer, T-Mobile
Qing Cao, Senior Product Manager, UPS
Ryan Dang Hong, Business Support Consultant, Wells Fargo
Pauline Mohler, Senior Director of Cost Transformation, Walmart, Inc.
Quinnie Ng-Quinn, Lead, Diversity, Reputation, & Inclusion, Verizon
Reina Cara Paraiso, Manager, Digital Product Management, McDonald’s Corp.
Joanne Tabellija-Murphy, National Director, Public Affairs-Corporate Affairs, Walmart, Inc.
Tina Tran, State Director of Outreach and Advocacy, AARP Texas
This year, OCA will also honor Walmart with its 2020 Corporate Partner of the Year Award with Dan Bartlett, Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs, accepting the award.
In addition, Mr. Frank Wu, former president of Committee of 100 as well as Queens College, will be honored with the OCA Executive Excellence Award.
“For their demonstrated leadership and commitment to the AAPI community, the BAC is honored to recognize this year’s Corporate Achievement Award winners,” says David Lin, BAC Chair. “We look forward to a special night of well-deserved recognition as we induct six very deserving individuals to a prestigious class of individuals.”
OCA–Asian Pacific American Advocates is a national civil rights organization dedicated to improving the social, political, and economic well-being of Asian American and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs).
