Washington, DC - OCA-Asian Pacific American Advocates extends our congratulations to Vanita Gupta and her confirmation to the Associate Attorney General position at the Department of Justice. Following a long series of Senate hearings, we are proud to see this historic confirmation come to fruition yesterday.
“Vanita Gupta will be the first woman of color to serve in this role, and the first civil rights attorney to be the third-highest position at the DOJ,” states Linda Ng, National President of OCA. “We are excited to see a diverse and representative Justice Department that reflects the needs of this country. We look forward to the work that will be done, and will continue to advocate for a fair and equitable justice system.”
