To achieve its objectives, OCA develops local leadership and community involvement through our 50 chapters. Each chapter develops its own outreach programs ranging conducting educational seminars and operating Chinese language schools to spearheading voter registration drives. OCA chapters address a number of issues including inaccurate media portrayals of APAs, failed employment practices, hate crimes, and educational access.

OCA Chapters also organize social activities for members and celebrate a variety of Chinese and Asian American cultural festivals and holidays.
